How to Reorder Records in Airtable Grid View

You’re in grid view and realize some records would make more sense if they were in a different order.

Maybe you want certain high-priority items at the top, or you want the table to flow in a way that’s easier to scan and understand.

So how do you reorder records in the table? Do you need to copy and paste values from one record to another? Or do you need to delete and recreate the record in the correct position?

The way to do this is much simpler. Airtable makes this process effortless.

When you hover over a record in grid view, a small drag handle appears on the left side of the row.

Click the handle, hold it, and drag the record to wherever you want it to go. Release, and the record snaps into place. That’s it.

It’s quick and intuitive. You can instantly organize your table in the order that makes the most sense for you.
